Prior to that I worked 1 year on a cardiac unit then I became a float RN. I have been a RN since 2015. I worked as an LPN for one year in a skilled unit prior to coming an RN.

Evidence based practice plays a role in all nursing. ER patients are a broad range on patients. You never know what may enter the door. Triage and starting appropriate measures is the biggest part, because time matters. We use standing protocols to act quickly q-sofa sepsis, chest pain rule out, and stroke rule out, and etc. We must transfer most of the patients that come into the door. It’s important to activate protocols early to get the patient where they need to go such as cath lab or stroke unit/trauma unit. Evidence based practice keeps the team up to date. ENA (Emergency nursing association) keeps up to date practice to help deliver safe practice and care.
