Learning Objective: Consider the factors that influence whether and how well journalism can perform the specific functions which fulfill democratic needs

Although the functions played by the press in a democracy are not dependent on delivery format, a specific medium might be better suited for one function or another.  Consider the functions one medium is best suited for (print, broadcast, online/digital) and which functions might pose more of a challenge. Discuss the following with the whole class: Will the functions change as our delivery system of news and information changes in the country?
