Standard Deviation is way of measuring variability. The standard deviation marks off points along the base of curve. An equal percentage of the curve will be found between the mean plus one standard deviation and the mean minus one standard deviation. 68.26% of scores fall within +1.0 and -1.0 standard deviations, 95.44% of scores fall within +2.0 and -2.0 standard deviations, and 99.73% of scores fall within +3.0 and -3.0 standard deviations.
