KT9-Brandi Dixon

What? I have learned some useful healthcare concepts and answered the assigned questions from the healthcare text book.

Now what? I will use the information learned and apply that in the healthcare position I hope to obtain.

Now What? I will continue to learn more about healthcare administration over the course of the coming weeks!

  1. Hi Brandi
Very nice post, i tend to disagree on the point that the surgeons should get a lower cut in the Ambulatory center, they are doing much of the work and bearing all the risk and providing 1/3 of the funds. I think they deserve a bigger cut if any.

  2. Hi Brandi, thanks for sharing. I liked your answer about retail medicine. You made an incredible point, that things are constantly changing. All we can do is adapt! Retail medicine may hurt for-profit clinics, as you stated.

  3. Brandi and Katie,
You both mentioned that retail medicine could hurt for-profit clinics, but how do you think the industry could combat that? I can personally see why retail medicine is becoming more popular due to what feels like a lack of assistance on the for-profit clinics. I have been into my doctor for issues related to GI pain and also increased metabolic issues. Other than a metabolic panel, they say “you will just have to exercise more and eat less”. Sure it is an easy and cop out answer, but how many individuals know how to go about this? This is what turned me towards finding a way to balance my retail and traditional medicine. I believe there is a place for them to connect.
