General Employer Information: American Multi-Cinema, Inc or better known as AMC is a movie theater industry leader and currently the 2nd largest movie theater chain in the United States. AMC is an industry leader in many aspects ranging from becoming the first multiplex theater in the world in 1962 to becoming the first theater in the world to offer Dolby Cinema experience at its theaters. Through the history of AMC, they have sought to constantly provide innovations in the industry and provide the best possible cinematic experience for its customers. In 2021, AMC has been in the center of Wall Street with its controversial war of small money vs big money. In 2021, AMC saw its stock price rise over 2500%.
Interest in Employer: AMC is one, if not the most popular theaters in Midwest. Like many other people, I enjoy going to the movies and enjoying the latest releases. Upon graduation, AMC will be one of the potential employers I would like to work for. There is a variety of reason but some of the key reasons include that their world headquarters are in Leawood, KS and it is very close to my current home in Topeka, KS. I have some former coworkers who are currently working for AMC and have persuaded me to search for a career within AMC. Perhaps the biggest reason I want to work for AMC is for those awesome employee discounts and early screenings for employees. If I were to be hired by AMC, I would be going into their IT field, there is a variety of careers I could pursue ranging security analyst to network engineer.
Questions:
- What are some ways the company is helping keep its employees safe during this global pandemic?
- what kind of benefits are offered by AMC as far as 401k, perks at work, PTO, discounts and career growth opportunities?
- Would the IT/Network department handle strictly corporate office issues and developments, or will they also be involved in the various theater locations across the U.S.?
- After being closed for several months in the early month of the Pandemic and with the rapid growing of new movies being directly steamed to services such as Disney plus, how does AMC plan to transition into this new at “home movie” era?

Interest in Employer: The Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas is based in Topeka, Kansas. It is one of the large companies in Topeka that employees hundreds of residents from around the Topeka area. Since I currently reside in Topeka, Kansas this would be an idea employer. I would not have to commute to work or relocate to physically be present in the Office. There is nothing that strikes me as unusual from Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas. Its mission is clear and has provided healthcare to millions. One of the reasons I am interested in Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas is because of the prestige and recognition the company has. I would almost argue that Blue Cross and Blue shield is a household health insurance company.

- Could you describe the company’s management style and the type of employee who would ideally fit?
- Are remote/work from home opportunities available for new hires?
- What Is the company policy on providing seminars, workshops, and training for career growth?

Electronic Arts or Better known as EA develops and delivers various digital entertainment titles every year since 1982. The company is best known for its hit sports titles such as FIFA Soccer and Madden NFL. Electronic Arts is also a leader in a variety of other games including The Sims, Battlefield and recently acquired license for All Star Wars Video Games. Electronic Arts is one of the most profitable companies in the world with a net revenue of $5.15 Billion dollars in the 2018 Fiscal year. Electronic Arts is and will continue to be a global leader with it is standard setting titles released each year with no intentions of slowing down.
Interest in Employer: Electronic Arts is one of the most well-known companies in the Digital Interactive entertainment industry. It has various branches across the world including London, Vancouver, Mexico City and Tokyo. Growing up video games were a large part of my life and Electronic Arts produced more than hold of the games that I enjoyed growing up. To this day Electronic Arts produces my favorite game, FIFA SOCCER. It truly has been my dream to work for Electronic Arts just so I could have an opportunity to work in the development of FIFA SOCCER. Something very interesting that I found about Electronic Arts is the way that they perceive their work. From what I have read, It appears to be a very creative driven environment that is often searching for passionate individuals with ambition to deliver innovational work and pioneer new standards. It resembles more of a creative environment than work environment.

- What do you most enjoy about working with Electronic Arts?
- With the company recently opening various datacenters across Europe and North America, is there opportunity to migrate into a different field inside the networking department (Data Center work)?
- How does the company structure the workload of the various projects that are released each year? For example, is there a certain group of developers who focuses on a certain game in one Electronic Branch while another group of developers and testers are working on a different project across the world?

Interest in Employer: As a Topeka resident, it is well known that Security Benefit is one of the most prestigious and well-paying companies in the area. They hire a large percentage of resident of the Topeka area in careers ranging from Accounting to Developers. The reason I would consider Security Benefit over any other company in Topeka is because they offer a lot of great incentives to their employees and often provide more opportunities to new college graduates while other companies might hesitate. I have various friends who work for the company, and they love the environment and the benefits they receive from the company.

- How much guidance and assistance is made available to new individuals in a developing career?
- How will my responsibilities and performance be measured and evaluated?

I love that you every place you chose to research was in a different field. I think the most exciting part of working in tech related fields is that you can be integrated into all kinds of different jobs. I also think you did a great job really focusing on what you’re looking for and asking questions that will guide you to that goal.
