  1. Your interest in the employer because of this research:

Based on researching this company, I would be interested in working for them because of the many opportunities that they seem to have. There were many positions open, and as they are a tech-company, they seem to have many positions available for people in the technology information industry. For people interesting in working on data storage and management solutions such as me, the company seems to have a lot to offer.

  1. Questions to Help You Succeed:

If I was called for an interview, I am sure I would have questions as to what exactly the position I applied for would entail, outside of what was mentioned in the job listing. I would want to make sure that the position was something I was truly interested in and capable of performing. I would also have questions regarding the employer’s benefits that they provide. For this company specifically, I think I would be most interested in what all opportunities they have in terms for future career growth with the different roles they may have for data storage and management solutions.

  1. General Employer Information:

Microsoft, an extremely well-known and successfully company is probably on the list of many individuals seeking future employment in the information technology industry. I don’t think Microsoft really needs much of an introduction to the multitude of things that they do.

  1. Your interest in the employer because of this research:

Because Microsoft is such a successful company with a plethora of opportunities for someone who works in the information technology industry, they certainly have my interest. Upon further examining their CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility), I became even more interested in potential employment through them. I am a strong advocate for companies truly having and upholding themselves to CSR, and Microsoft seems to be taking theirs very seriously. Microsoft focuses on four key areas: Support inclusive economic opportunity, Protect fundamental rights, Commit to a sustainable future, and Earn trust (Microsoft Corporate Social Responsibility report, 2019).

I remember one of my first computers being an HP, so I was curious as to what HP was up to these days and if I would be interested in working for them. 1. I noticed in your post that a lot of the contact information was missing because of the fact that you needed to apply for the position to be able to obtain recruiter contact information. I ran into a similar problem, so I ventured out onto LinkedIn and tracked down some people who were actively part of the company and had been listed as a recruiter. Some of the people I found were either in HR or responsible for bringing in new recruits. I even found a Twitter account of one of the recruiters who were actively searching for new hires for their location.

I believe that out of all the potential employers that you listed that Microsoft would be a good fit. They seem to be on top of things both software and technology wise. They are also a well-known corporation that does not seem to be going away anytime soon. A good question to get your foot in the door would be to ask whether they planned on making updates to the current layout of Microsoft Office. It would also be a good idea to offer your own ideas and ask if the employer was open to any critiques regarding their products. This shows interest and sets you up for success during the interview phase.

  2. Finding a contact person at Microsoft seems to be extremely difficult besides watching general information videos about those positions from others who have previously worked with Microsoft before. Working for such a big company comes with its benefits, but also makes it difficult since so many others are attempting to get into it as well.

  3. I see that you live in Kansas and have listed NetApp as a potential employer. I live in Wichita and NetApp has a large presence here. They have a huge facility in northeast Wichita (it was pretty empty last time I was there), and are currently opening a location on the Wichita State campus. I have had friends that worked for NetApp and it sounded like a great company. They are definitely a large global company, some of my friends had to attend many virtual meetings in the middle of the night with clients from Japan or Australia. I think it would be a great place to work with a lot of oppurtunities.
