Week 1 Post: How does Reality TV affect our behavior?

Hello, my name is Lauren Robben, and I am a second-year senior, and my major is Informatics with a concentration in Web and Application Development. I am from Manhattan, KS and am 22 years old. I plan to graduate here in the spring of 2022 and hopefully move to a bigger city and get a job as a web developer.

One of my favorite things to do is to watch TV and my favorite show is The Big Bang Theory so I figured this category would be perfect to research. As someone who watches a lot of television especially reality TV, I would love to know more about to psychological influences reality television has on our ways life. So, my research question is in what ways does reality TV affect our behavior in our personal lives. I believe that TV in general has a big influence on how we as viewers see life and we think. I think looking more into the psychological side of reality television is a great way to understand why we mimic behaviors on tv in real life. I am very excited to research this topic and I look forward to seeing what everyone else will be doing!

  1. Hello Lauren! It looks like we are both trying to graduate in the spring and I wish you well! Your research topic is really interesting. TV is such a big thing in our lives. It plays in waiting rooms, most of us have TVs in most of the rooms of our homes, and now it’s not uncommon to see mini TVs playing at the gas pumps. It’s taking over and I’m sure you’re onto something about how it effects our every day lives. I look forward to seeing what you comes of your research!
