About Mark Ray

I am a middle aged man trying to find my way in an increasingly complex world. Despite the ever-changing landscape of life, I commonly find myself projecting a stoic reminder to colleagues and classmates that you only get something out of it if you give back. Find humor in the common and purpose in adversity, then let the cards fall where they may.

  1. External validity is always tricky, especially in my field of research. I can’t imagine being able to study discrimination from a sterile perspective. For that matter, people’s predispositions are always a result of external consequences. In all but the most abstract cases, the human condition must be viewed from an external perspective. After all, we know ourselves better than anyone else, and that reigns true for everyone. Concealing the true meaning of a study, especially with regard to discrimination, is the only reasonable answer.
