The (Citation and Subject) Search Continues…

To begin my Week 12 research I chose to use a database that I did not utilize much in previous weeks because it had seemed to have less results.  I decided to go with this database this week to see what these new searches would result in.  I started with the subject of Technology, and chose the Computer Source database, limiting my search again to only the EBSCO vendors.  Once selected, my search terms initially were Education AND Technology AND Achievement, limiting to peer-reviewed, full-text articles, with complete PDF text available.  I did not limit the data range, and was surprised to have only 81 results returned.

Searching through the articles led me to the subject term Educational Technology (Lowe 2002).  After searching this term in the database, I was able to come across another useful article (Saha, Rao 2022), and found the subject of Academic Achievement.  Both of these terms are pertinent to my research so I decided to use them for my subject search.  My resulting subject search, limiting the same as before to full, peer-reviewed text and available PDF, returned 11 total results.  Overall the subject term search netted me with a good choice of useful articles, those referenced in this post but also a few I have saved for future review.

Continuing on into my citation search, I switched back to the Education Source database, to try and cross reference my sources, hoping to limit my results.  I used an article (Martin, et al. 2010) I found while doing my subject search and when I entered this into the citation search and looked for articles that referenced it, I was able to find 8 results.  Among them several were interesting, and one (Kopcha, et al. 2020) seemed worthy of recording for later use.
