I am currently working to get a bachelor’s degree in Information Networking & Telecommunications

Mountain View, CA 94043
(650) 253-0000
About:
Google does not only work on the search engine everyone knows about, they are also advanced in different technology and products (software and hardware). Their headquarters is in California and they have 100,000+ full time employees.
Interests:
I have been interested in google for as long as I can remember. Working for a huge company like Google would be awesome. They are always looking to advance in technology year after year and that is what I am looking for.
Questions:
What positions are available?
Where will I be working?
Do they offer any training?
2. Heartland Customer Solution
14206 Overbrook Rd
Overland Park, KS 66224

About:
Heartland customer Solutions has been around for 35 years and has over 200 employees. They are an information networking company that provides services in hardware and software. They support businesses around the country. They make sure to keep their customers productive.
Interests:
This is a somewhat smaller company, so I would be able to be close with some of the other employees. This is in a location I would like to live if I had to be on site. Their website says they offer training in some services, so I would be learning new things which I enjoy. Also I saw there was a network admin position available and that is what I would be looking for.
Questions:
Will I be working from home or on site?
3. San Antonio Water System

About:
San Antonio Water Systems or known as SAWS, is a water company in San Antonio Texas. They provide water to around 2 million people.
Interests:
I saw they were offering a position as a CISCO network administrator. It’s not a tech company, but that does not bother me. It is in Texas and I love visiting that state, so living there would be a nice new experience. They also offer great benefits from what their website says.
Question:
How many people would I be working with since it’s not a tech company?
4. Microsoft

About:
Microsoft was founded in 1975, and is now one of the biggest software companies. They also made the Xbox and continue to make improvements and new editions. If you do not have a mac then your computer is most likely running windows which is made by Microsoft.
Interests:
I have been playing Xbox systems since they came out and have been using their software like windows 10 or 11, Powerpoint, Word, etc. so I am very familiar with their products. I assume they offer great benefits since it is a large company.
Questions:
What positions are available?
What location would I work at?
Hey Jordon,
A few large corporations that you have discussed in your blog. What would you work as if you landed a job at one of these significant technology businesses? Out of Google or Microsoft, would you prefer? Getting a job at either of the two businesses would be extraordinary. I have always been an Xbox fan, so I would instead work for Microsoft than Sony. A question that I would personally ask at an interview for Google is their goals for the future of their technology in the next few years? I mean by this question going to Google devotes its effort to developing automation, robotics, Virtual Reality, or maybe all of the above with their number of employees.
I can say that San Antonio, Texas is a beautiful city to live around. I used to live around this city and go to the San Antonio Spurs games. The weather can be hot during the summers, but there is no proper winter. When I lived around the area, the average temperature during the winters was around 50 degrees, which is not bad with sunlight. San Antonio is not too far from the coast, so you can if you have any desire to go to the beach.
Hey Jordon, I noticed that you listed Microsoft as one of the companies in your blog post. Since you have grown up using their systems do you think you would be able to offer some good insight and produce changes that would overall benefit Microsoft as a whole? I ask because as a consumer we often think that we can make the product better as we are the ones actually using it and can see the flaws.
Hey Jordan! I almost researched Google for this project too, but I guess I’m more of a hometown girl myself. As big as they are, I wonder what kind of remote positions they have? Do you have any idea what kind of positions you’d be interested in with those larger companies?
Hi Jordan! I enjoyed reading your post. You listed four diverse & interesting employers in your research. Google is huge and I think it is going to be around for a long time. I did not know that they are headquartered in California. I wonder what the future looks like for Google and what potential job openings they will have in the next few years. I have completed one course so far that introduced me to Cisco networking. So, the network administrator position at SAWS that your researched interest me too.
The San Antonio Water Systems job seems interesting as I would think that company is part of the city, working for SAWS you would then be working within the city infrastructure which I think could provide an interesting challenge.
