Ashlie Squier Introduction and Research Topic

Hi everyone! My name is Ashlie Squier and I’m a senior here at FHSU studying IT. I’m from a small town outside of Kansas City, Kansas where I currently live with my fiance and our 2 kids, Erik (4y) and Elynore (18m). I primarily stay home with our kids but I also work part-time as a pharmacy technician and I’m slowly but surely finishing up this bachelor’s degree. I don’t usually have much free time, but when I do, I like to play video games, watch movies/shows, go fishing, or just be outside at all when the weather is warm.

The specifics of my research topic may change a bit as we dive into the project more but I’d like to research cryptocurrency. It doesn’t necessarily have anything to do with my hobbies or career goals, but it’s something I’ve been curious about for a while. I’ve just never given myself the time to look into it further, until now.

About Ashlie Squier

I'm a senior majoring in IT. I'm a part-time student, part-time pharmacy technician, and full-time stay at-home mom. When I have free time I like playing video games, binging Netflix, spending time with friends, and getting outside whenever the weather is nice. I'm not a fan of winter!

  1. Hi Ashlie! Nice to meet you & read your first blog for this course. I am single-parent raising two kids, so I know how hard it is to juggle parenting responsibilities while also taking classes and working. It’s a full plate! Cryptocurrency is definitely an interesting topic. That is one that I would like to learn more about too! Good luck in this course.

  2. Nice to meet you Ashlie. Our topics are fairly related. I have a decent amount of knowledge into cryptocurrencies and would like to give some of recommendations when diving into the idea of cryptocurrencies. Research into the idea of “blockchain technologies”. These technologies directly relate to cryptocurrencies and will help you on your journey to understanding how they operate. Another idea to look into is the idea of “deflation”. Deflation is heavily related to Bitcoin especially and help make the comparison as to why cryptocurrencies can hold so much value.
