Nice to meet everyone, I’m Dain Grimes. I am a Senior here at FHSU, currently living in Hays and I plan to graduate this May with a degree in networking. On top of my degree in networking, I also will get a certification in entrepreneurship. My past two years here at FHSU I have been tackling a number of business ventures, competing in entrepreneurship competition, and had an internship through the Center of Entrepreneurship. Through my entrepreneurial experience, I have done much research and hope to expand my horizons on one of my first business ventures. The business venture I dove into was using renewable resources (wind energy as the main focus) to power a bitcoin mining operation.
Blockchain technology and the cryptocurrencies attached to it will be my focus for this year’s research project. I hope to dive into some unfamiliar areas with the field and answer some questions of my own. I have a decent understanding of how they work, but lack a lot of knowledge on the why and how they came to be or are popular.

Hi Dan! I look forward to reading any information you find researching the blockchain and cryptocurrencies. Both have been a big topic in the tech world for a few years now, and I see web3 as a topic of discussion on tech Twitter all of the time, but I do not have enough information about either topic to truly understand what is being discussed.
Good afternoon Dain. Great post. BC technology is a very interesting research topic. I look forward to reading your posts as the semester progresses. My name is DK and I’m in your group this semester. Good luck!

Hi Dain! Look forward to seeing where your research regarding blockchain and cryptocurrencies will take you. It’s been extremely interesting to see the impact these technologies have had on the world at large. I remember first encountering bitcoin in the early 2010s and wondering what sort of growth it could experience. It has been such an interesting landscape in the last decade as knowledge of blockchain and cryptocurrencies have become more of a mainstream household topic of conversation.
Hey Dain,
it is interesting to see how far cryptocurrency has come and what a large effect it can have on the market and it’s values. It is interesting to also see how NFT’s have come into play in regards to Block chains.
