Greetings fellow classmates, my name is Kristy Burks. Currently, I am a junior at Fort Hays State University. I am working towards a bachelor’s in information Networking and Telecommunications with a concentration in web and mobile app design.
Previously, I have studied graphic & web design and I have an associate of science degree. I have two kids, ages 14 & 7. My hobbies include creating handmade home decor, crafting, design, cooking, and hanging out with my kids. I have attached my logo. I also have a website to display my portfolio: www.kristyburks.com.
I have not narrowed down an exact research topic just yet, but there are
a few topics that interest me. One topic is the future of robotics and
artificial intelligence, another topic is cloning, and a third topic would be xenotransplantation.
I am excited to get started with this course and I look forward to learning
more about the research methods in informatics.
I appreciate the earnest push for greater mobile phone and web design. While I’ve always struggled with graphic design, I’m of the opinion that the current wave of minimalism which we’re going through at the moment will age poorly, as it explicitly robs this generation of its defining personality traits. Your logo certainly strives for a more DIY, self-starter approach that’s flawed with human virtue. It’s certainly befitting of the increasing autonomy we have with the technology of the 2020s. Hopefully, you and your generation of graphic designers can make a mold for the internet of the future in just such a vein.
Thank you for reading my blog Ellinor! I agree with you that minimalism is definitely trending. I see that more and more when doing graphic design work. As they say, “less is more” and I do appreciate simplicity, clear lines, and clearing away the clutter, but I also enjoy the farmhouse style that is popular for decorating. That is more my style! Good luck in this course!
