Introduction and Initial Research Topic

Hello everyone, my name is Justin Korbe. Currently I am a senior at Fort Hays State University.  I am currently working towards graduating this semester with a bachelors in Networking and Telecommunications with a concentration in Information systems.

My hobbies are mainly playing video games and keeping up to date with current software and hardware for computers. I always found technology fascinating and wanted to learn more about it. I always have buddies ask me to look at computer builds and ask for help when they encounter a problem. However, I started to get questions about networking equipment. I understand the basics about networking However, for my Initial Research Topic  I would like to look into current networking technology and look at future networking technology.

  1. Hello Justin, my name is Austin. PC parts and PC building is something that I have only dabbled in, I could certainly learn more and would like to learn more in the future. I also agree that at the rate things are being upgraded there is constantly new networking technology coming out and it can be hard to stay up to date with it all. Good luck this semester!

  2. Hello Justin, welcome to the class! There was a time when I was really interested in IT and PC building, and began taking courses for it. I dropped the degree shortly into it, but part of what the courses I took covered was in PC hardware and server hardware. I see that you mention an interest in building PC’s and the goal to grow into networking tech. I found the different types of hardware for this part very interesting, all of the different types of connectors and tools used for connecting ethernet cords and such was very cool. As for the parts about the software side of it all, it seemed very deep and complex. I don’t think I’m cut out to be an admin because of how hard I find this portion. I wish you the best of luck in your time this semester, and your future career goals!
