Introduction and Research Idea

Hello Everyone!

My name is Kayla. I am 25 years old and currently living alone with my dog Libby and hamster Thor. It is a chilly day here in Pennsylvania which is where I was born and raised. I have an Associates degree in Specialized Technology as a Computer Technican but currently expanding my learning and going for my Bachlors in Telecommunications and Networking. I am working full time at a cable/internet/phone company as a social media specialist and have been there almost 5 years. The most interesting thing I want to research more about is Cybersecurity. I have also had an interest in it and want to learn more about it and how we can prevent hackers especially being in the tech field I get a lot of questions and problems with hackers.

  1. Hello Kayla! My name is Austin, what kind of dog do you have? Cybersecurity is such an interesting topic and field. It is also something that people even outside of this industry need to have knowledge on that way they are not a victim of a cyber crime themselves.

  2. Hi Austin! Nice to meet you. I have a miniature Doxie. She is my entire world and sad to say that she will be 10 in April! Do you have any pets? I know that field is so interesting and I can’t wait to learn more.

  3. Social media specialist! That must be so excited. I’m glad to see you taking an interest in others’ concerns as well as your own with cybersecurity, shows you’re very caring.

      1. That is okay! I knew what you meant haha. It is an interesting job for sure especially with covid being around we had to move to work from home. Aww, thank you. To be a customer service/technical support person you have to be somewhat caring 😉

  4. I didn’t realize ISPs have social media people. Most people do not like their ISP lol. Sounds like a difficult job.

Cool to hear you want to learn about cybersecurity. I can tell you from experience it’s a rabbit hole. But there is so much you can learn that can keep you from making irreversible mistakes.
