The two databases that I chose on using for this assignment were PsycINFO and Google Scholar. I wanted to focus on the aspects of psychology and literature on the effect’s technology has had on people. My results below will give me some good insight to the information I am seeking.
PsycINFO:
Mental Heath AND Technology (1500 results)
Smartphones AND Mental Health (52 results)
Covid AND Depression (82 results)
Google Scholar:
Smartphones AND Computer and Mental Health (1000 results)
“mental health” AND problematic smartphone use (500 results)
Depression and Computers (1100 results)

I also am going to use Google Scholar for my research as well. I think those are really good searches especially the COVID and depression one. I believe that a lot of people got depressed during COVID and lockdown when pretty much everyone lost their jobs. I feel like you can do a lot with that information alone for mental health and social media (the phones).
I think you have a good research topic. Good luck! 🙂
Okay, now I am convinced. I will have to try Google Scholar for my topic. You and Behorvath have convinced me. Your search on depression and computers brought back some good results. I am interested to know if computers really do contribute to depression. Good luck with your continued research.
