Welcome to INF 240 Learning Community

Ready to be a news reporter? Awesome!  I know your reporting this semester can be vital to your community.  We’ll utilize the Craft & Davis textbook to really think about what journalism is and what it involves. We’ll do a couple of projects dedicated to helping you learn more about important topics across the globe and how to fact-check them. And, we’ll also look into beat reporting, so you can develop that beat for your community, and wrap the semester up with two independent projects. We’ll take it project by project and, hopefully, have a fair bit of fun along the way.

If you are taking this class as a hybrid student, we will ONLY meet via Zoom during our first two weeks (Aug 16, 20, 25, & 27). No matter when it seems wise to meet on campus, on-campus meetings will never be required.

Our Blackboard shell should be available Friday evening, August 14.

How to Navigate This Blog

Want to access peer’s work on an assignment? I forgot to mention that in my video. But, you can use the “categories” drop-down menu on the right to access all posts within a category. That’s why it’s so important for you to categorize posts when you add them.
