It is time to start thinking about your final story. This can be on any topic. But, the story requires:
- Two real-time, socially distant interviews and
- A total of five different story sources.
- If you want to stick with print, it should be a big-data or other investigative story that includes additional visual and hyperlinked elements.
In your pitch, tell Nick, Russell, and me about:
- Your General Topic
- Additional potential angles.
- How would you explain the story in ONE sentence?
- What are the unanswered questions you hope to explore?
- What’s the best medium for the story?
- If it’s video: what’s the potential for scenes and dynamic action you can take our viewers through?
- Audio: What are the dynamic sounds we’ll hear to provide interest and emotion?
- Interactive/Social Media: How will you get the audience involved to interact with the story?
- Print: What are the dense details that make this much more in-depth than your weekly story?
- In each story, who are the characters, and are they accessible?
- Where do you need to go to tell the story?
- What’s the potential impact of the reporting?
- Has anyone else done this reporting regionally or nationally? How will ours differ from that?
- REQUIRED: At least three news stories on this topic or a related topic that helps show what has been done on the story in the past.
