Hello class,
My name is Jordan Pumphrey and I am a transfer student at Fort Hays State. I was born and raised in Bakersfield, California. I transferred to Hays to play basketball and finish getting my degree. I have been playing basketball since I was 3 years old. My dad started me out very young and made me have a strong feeling for basketball. I would always run around dribbling all over the house. My childhood idol is Kobe Bryant. I wanted to be just like him growing up and when he passed away I was so upset. I love the game and enjoy playing, watching it, and just being around it. Before Hays I attended a junior college in Ridgecrest, California. I played basketball and went to school there for 2 years. I am excited for what is in store for me at Fort Hays and I hope we have a season this year.
The main thing I think about when it comes to the news is how you never know if it is the absolute truth. The news is not always one hundred percent accurate and it is blown out of proportion most of the time. Reporters over exaggerated all the time when creating a story for their deadline. They do not care if it is right or wrong. Often times they just need to put a story out. For example, when the BLM protest were going on a lot of them were peaceful, but some articles would do false reports and claim that there was violent protest and riots.
