My beat is to keep people updated and aware about what is going on with all sports of these upcoming seasons and dealing with Covid-19. This year has been chaotic with everything, but has definitely taken a toll when it comes to our athletes. Having fall sports such as football, volleyball, cross country, soccer, and field hockey being pushed back due to the coronavirus is resulting in schools and programs being affected all over the world. Winter sports are still up in the air and being decided as we speak, but as we learn more about this virus our great doctors and trainers can help us adjust to this new way of life. Sports programs are coming up with more safety guidelines and regulations to make sure athletes, coaches, and everyone else are not at any harm.
There are so many sports fans all over the world. It does not matter where you are from sports are known and acknowledged. Whether it is in your city, state, or country there is a popular sport that brings people together to watch and cheer on. Coronavirus has put a halt to that, but it has not stopped us from having hope that one day we will return to that type of lifestyle.

This is a good beat idea, but I would maybe shift it to focus on more regional, local sports — perhaps the current work by the MIAA to resume sports, the NCAA’s decisions at multiple levels that continue to change, etc.
Might I suggest you find a senior athlete in high school and “cover” them as they try to earn a college scholarship? That could be interesting, interviews could be done with the player and coach during the weeks, after games, etc. Just a thought. I think your experiences could show how the recruiting process works and how hard it is to get attention at times.
