Simple Rules to follow: 

*Use Summer 2019 Tests and Measurements example Plectica Map*

Rule #1: Guiding Question

• Using the resources provided below, explain what the following concepts are: Systems Thinking v2.0 (DSRP), Measures of Central Tendency and Measures of Variation. In addition, provide an example of the Mean, Median, and Standard Deviation for the measurements below.

Rule #2: Given Information/Data

• Read and watch the following: DSRP (A Unifying Theory of Systems Thinking), Khan Academy (Calculating Standard Deviation Step by Step)
• Determine the following: You have just tested your students and received the following scores. Find the mean, median, and standard deviation for the following test scores: 70, 70, 75, 76, 80, 82, 90.

Rule #3: Create a Plectica Map

• Open Plectica.
• Use Thinkquiry and the Pyramid Principle to help you structure your ideas.
• Use the Summer 2019 Tests and Measurements example map and create your Plectica Map.
• Use the following questions to guide you in the creation of your Plectica Map:
  1. What is the unknown (what are you being asked)? Refer to your guiding question (Rule #1).
  2. What is the data or given information? Refer to your given information/data (Rule #2).
  3. How can you logically explain the data or information (use Thinking in Proofs Plectica Map and read Apply Bubble Logic to Two-Column Proofs).

Rule #4: Create a Tableau Visualization

• Open Tableau.
• Create a Tableau Visualization using sample data provided.
• Add Tableau image(s) to your Plectica Map.

Rule #5: Create a Blog Post in this Learning Community

• Click +New at the top of the screen.
• Label the post (Lastname_Week1_PlecticaMap_1) or something to that extent.
• Using the Situation-Complication-Question (SCQ) framework (refer to the Pyramid Principle document), frame your blog post.
• Reply to at least 2 other student blog post in this Learning Community.
