  1. What is standard deviation? And what are the steps to calculate it?
  • Measure of how spreads out numbers are.
  • Work out the Mean the simple average of the numbers, than subtract the Mean and square the result. Then work out the mean of those squared differences, than take the square root.
  1. What is standard deviation used for?
  • A number used to tell how measurements for a group are spread out from the average to find the means.
  1. What is the difference between measures of central tendency and measures of variation or spread?
  • Central Tendency- is measure of means medium or mode to provide the overall descriptions of information.
  • Variation/spread- is a measure of variability that on how far it is from the mean of equation.

  • Validity- Is how well you can prove you information collected.
    • Testing If someone has a virus of bacterial sickness
  • Reliability- The quality of the information being giving how well you can trust the information presented.
    • If you test the same age group who all have been the given the same information and resources. Fitness test in PE class.
  • Objectivity- classify the various different types of measures by independent of the observers.
    • Testing on a home workout on a group of people doing it on their own without instruction of trainer.

  2. My map is kind of similar. I like it and I think you used your colors a bit better than I did so well done. Answers were to the point.
