Assignment Instructions:

  1. Sign into Plectica.
  2. Create an Essay Map (EM3).
    1. State which option you choose to write about. Read similar student blogs on the article of your choice. State if you think you will write a blog (will receive 150 extra credit points) or an essay. Both LSS classes are required to write a blog.
  3. Open Minitab and follow the instructions.
    1. Scenario: A student in Tests and Measurements earned the following quiz scores (n=12) : 78, 88, 98, 89, 83, 98, 96, 91, 91, 80, 91, 74.
    2. Enter the scores into Minitab.
    3. In Minitab, go to Stat > Basic Statistic >Display >Descriptive Statistics
    4. Click the “Variables” box, then choose the appropriate column.
    5. Click “Statistics” which will open a box where additional descriptive statistics can be selected. Check the box for “Mode” and select ok. Click “Graphs” which opens a window where graphs can be selected. Check the box for Histogram of data, with normal curve and select ok.
    6. Click Ok.
  4. Create a Plectica map and answer the following questions.
    1. Copy and paste an image of your Minitab chart.
    2. What does your data tell you?
      1. What is the Mean, Median, and Mode?
      2. What is the difference between the three?
      3. Describe the difference between your scores.
  5. Create a post in WordPress. Go to Dashboard – Posts – New.
    1. Share an image (set featured image) and share a link to your Plectica map.
    2. In your post, provide a narrative about your map.
    3. State whether you choose to write a blog or essay and what your topic is.
    4. The first to post their map each week will receive 10 extra credit points.
    5. If you share in Facebook (you must provide your narrative as well as a link or image to your map), then you will receive 10 extra credit points.
    6. In your post, state if you completed the SurveyMonkey.
  6. Respond to at least two other student posts.
  7. Complete the SurveyMonkey.
