Using the nature surrounding beauty and layout of the land, the amphitheater overlooks the naturally formed oxbow pond. Made from limestone, quarried by hand from early pioneers to the area from the Fort Hays Limestone formation, the amphitheater is a visually attractive landmark to the Dr. Howard Reynolds Nature Trails. Perfect for an educational program to seat 60 children but also built to seat 40 adults, the amphitheater is multi-use. While here on the trails, don’t forget to sit down on the limestone and overlook the beauty of the pond while watching birds fly, turtles sunbathe, fish looking for food, or the gorgeous Western Kansas sunset.
