If coming with a large group don’t forget to call ahead and schedule a guided trail hike from the education department. This guided hike will take you on an interpretative tour where we explore all the features of the trail, biodiversity of the area, history of the land features, and history of the land use. If you don’t feel like hiking 2 miles then ask about the specialized hikes and educational opportunities where we focus on individual aspects of nature along segments of the trail such as the prairie, pond, stream, wetlands, and wildlife.If not interested in a group guided tour, simply stop by the gift shop in the lobby and check out an interpretative trail guide that will take you on a tour of the features on the trail with plants, birds, mammals, insects, and ecosystem features and functions.
