Standard deviation is a measure of variation from an average data set. The standard deviation marks off points along the base of the curve. Equal percentages are found between the mean +1 SD and the mean – SD. Same is true for +2 SD & -2 SD and also +3 SD & -3 SD. 68.26% falls between +1 & -1 SD. 95.44% falls between +2 & -2 SD. 99.73% falls between +3 & -3 SD.

    • I had never heard of the acronym before this class, so I really liked the way it broke everything down.
