Clear and concise presentation! I particularly appreciated the discussion on prevention and offering primary, secondary and tertiary examples.
While it’s been many years since I’ve been on an intensive care unit – I work with special needs kids (autism, ADHD, ODD) and they are VERY easily escalated – particularly when they are tired. Sleep is a vital piece of overall well-being… particularly when one is convalescing. When I was a hospital nurse, it was always such a challenge to allow the client sufficient time for restorative sleep between labs, assessments and blood draws. Good luck on your project!
Nice job Sydni. I like the simplicity and clean look of your slides. I also enjoyed the brevity, i.e.,right to the point. I defintely think that you are on to something by analyzing the issue of sleep deprivation and its link to delirium. Its been proven that sleep deprivation leads to even hallucinations and such. When this is combined with fear, worry and other psychological issues it’s easy to see how delirium could ensue. I hope that they accept your proposal! Good Luck and see you next semester. Enjoy the rest of your summer.
Love it Sydni. Your slides were very easy to follow and understand. It is so amazing to me that this issue has been going on for so long but still remains difficult to handle. It seems that we focus so much on one thing at a time and sacrifice something else trying so hard to give quality healthcare. I am sure you will do a great job proposing all of your ideas.
