Great Presentation but there is no audio to your presentation. I work on surgical floor so we are not allowed to use restraints. Currently only ICU is allowed use restraints at our facility but we recently got tele-sitter (video monitoring) which really helps. It is projected that direct treatment costs from elder falls will escalate to 43.8 billion annually by 2020 (CDC, 2013). Complications of falls are quite critical in nature and are the leading cause of both fatal and nonfatal injuries including traumatic brain injuries and fractures. Overall, the main goal of a fall reduction is to benefit patient care and prevent harm while still maintaining independence.
