In my 34 years of nursing carrier in Japan (11 years ) and US ( 23 years ), I met many nursing leaders. Now I believe most important element for great nursing leaders or any kind of leaders is their charisma and confidence. There are many style of leadership and theory and technical method for leadership however none of them do not work if leader is not effective for that. Also I realize how well and how effective leader is, always some staffs have some issue about the leader’s style or method so leaders are always target for attack from staffs. They need to have strong mind and observation skill to be flexible to deal with any kind of issue and situation.
I knew that I do not have those skills or I do not want to deal with those issue so I avoided to learn long time about leadership however to complete my nursing carrier I need to learn and use those skills for our nursing future. This is my one step for leadership. If I do not learn or try to learn I never know about our leader and our nursing. I excite about this class for I will have new point of view for leadership
