I like that you identify the importance of establishing a trusting relationship and open communication as a leader. I also agree that good leadership is utilizing the appropriate methods at the right times. Great work on the post.
If you’re a preceptor, you definitely have a leadership role! My company finds preceptors through an interview process. Preceptors are picked for a reason. They are wise, results oriented and look for positive outcomes. They must have integrity. Don’t you think you’re not a leader? The preceptors that work for my company definitely are. Best of luck this summer.
I agree with your qualities of a good nurse leader. Communication and trust is key. I have found that all of the great leaders I have worked with were easy to talk to and I trusted them. I valued their feedback and appreciated their guidance!
