INSTRUCTOR INTRODUCTION!

I’m so glad to have you in the course! Thanks for taking a minute to view my introduction. First, I want you to know….

I love RUNNING! Running is my favorite. So far I’ve completed a half marathon in Oklahoma, Kansas, Arkansas, Texas, Nebraska, New Mexico, Wisconsin, Washington, Florida, Massachusetts, and South Carolina. My husband, also a RN and FHSU graduate, and I love to travel with our two daughters as I run each state and someday reach my goal of a half marathon in all 50 states!

Now, tell me about yourself!

I didn’t include how I see myself as a leader within my current nursing role. I work in a smaller office/clinic setting with 6 providers. There are only 3 nurses including myself for all 6 providers. I have a lot of autonomy and responsibility to my patients to make sure they are receiving the proper treatment they need. I work closely with our physicians and office manager to make sure the clinic runs smoothly and patients are satisfied.

When you get your doctoral degree, will it be in education or practice? Just curious.

Katie, you need to run the Flying Pig Marathon (or half marathon) in Cincinnati. I’m an avid runner as well. Looking forward to a great semester. Thanks for sharing!

Hello Katie, I think it is a wonderful goal to run a half marathon in all 50 states. I have ran two half marathons in Kansas. One in Abilene and one in Wichita. I have taken some time off of running but am starting to get back into it. I am running a 5k in Las Vegas in a couple weeks. I am looking forward to another class with you.
