Megan, it is unfortunate your unit is facing a staff turnover problem. Telemetry units and med/surg units seem to have this common issue which comes in spurts! I found an article titled “Nursing Burnout; WHy it Happens and How to Avoid It,” and there are many factors of burnout discussed in this article. If units were to allow the staff to voice their concerns and possible burnout causes would the turnover rate be decreased at all since the staff may feel as though they are being heard?
