Introduction

Hello! My name is Christan Butler; I live in Salina, Kansas. I am a married mother of two, a 6 year old daughter and a 3 year old son.
Most of my career has been spent in critical care, ED and ICU. For the last 4 years, I worked in leading my hospital to re-verification from the American College of Surgeons for a Level 3 Trauma Center, built and managed a Healthcare Facilities Accreditation Program (HFAP) Primary Stroke Center and for the last year worked to become an accredited Chest Pain Center with PCI from the American College of Cardiology. My current job requires me to do a fair amount of community and nursing education, process improvement, facility EMS liaison for the CAD population, co-chair committees specific to the program, as well as considerable data analysis and trending. I have defiantly worn many hats the last 4 years and stayed very busy!
I use research on a daily basis in my current nursing practice. My current Bible is the AHA/ACC guidelines for Chest Pain Accreditation when reviewing the care of the chest pain patient. I also find myself researching articles on effective community health education to include financial incentives for smoking cessation or the latest passion is CVD prevention in special populations, more specifically, women. I spend hours doing real time and retrospective reviews of care, assess quality and compare them to the current PI plan and apply the evidence based practice though education or if needed, the risk management process.

I hope to learn more about all of you and good luck!

Pleasure to meet you, Christan. You have your hands full with keeping up with all the accreditations. That is great! I love working with the community too. It makes a difference when community is educated about their health needs and options.
