People and Data – A final analysis

Hypothesis –

While new and improved technology may seem like an exciting topic for an information major, my experience as a data analyst has given me a first hand look at the different perceptions people have when it comes to data and information.  Researching difficulties surrounding data usage can help businesses understand the best way to introduce systems and technology so that all are comfortable using devices in the future.

Introduction –

An introduction gives a brief explanation of what’s to come. I plan on introducing my topic in a way that is understandable by all. My introduction will briefly describe how important technology is in today’s information age and why it’s important to create systems and technology that are easy to use by all people, not just those that are tech savvy. I’ll include what made me choose my topic, the different points I’ll be elaborating on, and how my research will tie into my discussion.

Literature Review –

The literature review is an important part of a research proposal because it highlights what you would like to gain from your research. In my literature review I’ll be explaining my topic in more detail by pointing out what’s been discovered in the articles I choose to use that are relevant to my topic. I want to call attention to the different ways people learn, especially when it comes to technology and my focus will be on young vs. old. Understanding the difficulties surrounding this topic will be the bulk of my literature review.

Methodology –

My plan is to study the differences and similarities of the way young people and old people use data and technology. Most of my articles refer to employees and technology use at work so this is what I would like to base my methodology on. Even in technology based companies, people struggle with data usage. I will be using samples from various industries to show that comprehension is cognitive and there are ways to develop processes and learning tools that can be applicable to everyone.

Discussion –

My discussion will reiterate the goal of my proposal. I’ll highlight the importance of my research and explain how my findings can improve the quality of the way people do business. I want this to be an ongoing study so that researchers can follow-up to continue to improve upon the comfortability surrounding people and data usage. I’ll leave no room for confusion when presenting my research project and hope to intrigue my readers so that they continue to be interested in this topic.
