Hypothesis – To maximize the number of sales for a video game console, marketing for the console should focus on the exclusive games for that platform. This will push more sales rather than marketing based on nostalgia, graphical performance, or the console itself.
Introduction – Marketing is something that is constantly changing and involved in today’s society due to the way we function now in trends. Marketing for products has to stay on top of that thus forcing the marketing focus to change to stay relevant. How should marketing for gaming consoles evolve to stay relevant and push for the most sales?
Literature Review – Discuss previous iterations of marketing for consoles with a big emphasis on the marketing for the previous generation of consoles (PS4 & Xbox One & Wii U) to showcase the difference or similarities that the next-generation console marketing has been so far one year into their life cycle.
Methodology – Will show “consumer”/focus groups different ads that focus on one aspect of the same console such as nostalgia, graphical performance, exclusives, or the console itself. Then once they have watched, see if they were convinced to buy a console.
Discussion – Discussed how these findings can greatly affect the future of consoles and what they will focus on for future generations as they compete against fellow competitors such as PCs or Cloud Gaming.
Excellent job! But make sure you have some academic research included in your proposal. You should have found studies that already did similar work and be able to show how your study will provide knowledge not yet developed from just those studies.
