Review: I chose to review this article due to the fact it introduced a new aspect to consider in my research proposal which is cloud gaming. Cloud gaming is an interesting new wrinkle to the video game industry in that it eliminates the point of consoles. In one short sentence, cloud gaming is the process where a server in a different location handles the running of the game and streams it to your device which means your device doesn’t need the capabilities of running the game itself. This is an area that both Sony and Microsoft have already started dabbling in for their games, This made me realize that this could be another focus that future marketing for consoles can use to promote themselves.
Overall, this article was helpful in showing me another possibility of the future of consoles in the video game industry.
