Week 13 Blog Post: How does Reality Television affect sociological aspects of society?

My research topic is how does reality television impact our society’s sociological behaviors. As an avid TV watcher, I have noticed over the years that the way in which our behaviors as humans are sometimes influenced by television especially reality tv. Essentially this gave me the idea to question reality television sociological impacts on our behavior. I believe the databases I have used are great tools that I will use while completing this final project and the results of those searches are shown below.

Database: ProQuest

  • Search: Television and Behaviors
  • Filters: Year: 2015-present; Scholarly Journals
  • Results: 18,510
  • The results I found in this database search were very promising because a majority of the journals I found were specifically related to my research question. I plan to use a good amount of these articles in my final project.

Database: EBSCO Host

  • Search: Reality TV effects out society
  • Filters: Year: 2017-present; Scholarly and peer reviewed journals
  • Results: 526
  • This search really provided a lot of guidelines in which I plan to use when conduction my research for the final projects and will help keep a clear vision on what kinds of articles I want to use.

Database: Taylor and Francis

  • Search: Reality TV Behavior Effects
  • Filters: Full Text; Scholarly (Peer Reviewed) Journals
  • Results: 333
  • This search provided a lot of information on my topic and it especially gave me a lot of insight into the psychological side of my question.

Database: Google Scholar

  • Search: Society and Television
  • Results: 50
  • The results I found that this search went really well because it gave me some insight into the more historical side of the television part of my topic.

Annotation: This particular article will lay the groundwork for my topic and will help shape the basis of my argument. The abstract of the article gives me a clear view of what the article is going to be about and after reading it I think the information discussed is going to be a great reference for my research project.
