Internet Security and Privacy

My topic is to discuss how different nations control and protect their data. As well as the freedoms and security’s those individuals have and the polices that were adopted to ensure their security.

I chose internet policy in order to make a general and open field for any international policy in the database. Oddly This result was rather high on the list with good sources and a full link and pdf. Once I added the PDF angle it was narrowed down to 248. Which is still a rather large amount of data to come through. Most of the data is useful but some are to specific talking about certain policies rather then a more general overview of all policies in a country not a huge deal but it would be more difficult to source all of the documents. This result I have also gotten before using other search methods.  The document is rather useful showing the Chinse government can censor foreigners and political dissentients in other countries. That way if a person leaves the CCP they can still be censored from a foreign environment. Its not really a groundbreaking article but it is simplistic and easy to understand.

I couldn’t figure out how to obtain the data I needed for creating the “Cited by” and “Source Cited” tabs. I used google scholar in order to obtain metrics that could be used and be given values based on academic use.  I was rather surprised by how many sources the article managed to cite. It became rather bothersome to come through all the documents for usable research communications and policy based research are scattered throughout the document. The information and the data obtained seems trustworthy enough. Although the site has no record of anyone citing the source or at least giving credit for citing the source. This article is also rather different in its approach rather then focusing on the security aspect or privacy aspect. It focuses on the development of three Asian nations and how they can improve their internet practices to better themselves/country. As the internet effects society its hoped with better practices the internet could improve these third world countries into first world.
