Results: This source led me to searching for personality and online communication, two subject terms the source used. This brought back a list of 32 results, with many articles being very relevant to my topic. I have a feeling I will be using many of these results going forward. The use of the communications database also assisted me here.

The source was cited 56 times.

The source cited 86 other sources.

This source did/did not lead to many other useful sources.

There are a lot of articles to go through after looking through sources that cited or were cited by this work. Because of how relevant the source I started with was to my topic, the work that supports it or uses it to support further research is very important to me. Of all the ways of searching for more sources, I found this to be the most valuable.

  1. Good post, Finn! I do have two precautions related to APA and using conference papers. When it comes to APA, *always* include the authors’ names. When it comes to conference papers, try not to rely on them. They didn’t get as thorough of a vetting as published peer-reviewed journal articles. Additionally, papers are often published after they were presented at the conference. And, when I searched for your paper by title, that is what I found out: http://dx.doi.org/10.1016/j.chb.2013.01.046
