Review of One Source

The comparative effectiveness of distributed and collocated team after-action reviews.

This is a study of 492 participants who were assigned to 123 4 person teams who participated in military action. After the military action, there was an after-action review. These AARs in the U.S. Military’s method for collecting training and performance in both actual and simulated settings.

During this study, they studied effectiveness scores for actions that were traditional and distributed. The study hypothesized that distributed teams would have a loss in process effectiveness. But during the study, they found that was not the case.

This study’s method of using AARs might be useful to me in planning my own research. The methods they used for reviewing and scoring these AARs could prove to be useful for me.
