“Does time spent using social media impact mental health?: An eight year longitudinal study.” discusses the link between the duration of time using social media by individuals and mental health related issues, most notably, anxiety and depression. The study lasts for a duration of eight years and involves 500 children and teenagers who are given annual questionnaires. The results revealed to researchers help to determine whether or not there was a direct link between social media usage and mental health issues. The source is very helpful to my study as I am doing research on social media and its impact on society and human interaction. It discusses one key aspect of my study while other sources dive into other topics surrounding social media.
