Source Review:
I decided to review the article entitled, “Data spot check: Oh no, could it all be wrong?”. My take on the article is this, the author had hands on knowledge of new system implementation and how users interact with systems. From the author’s perspective, the company gave everyone access to data manipulation, including that of important documents and key information. This article was interesting to me because a lot of the time, people struggle with data because of the inconsistencies they encounter when using systems. The author also pointed out how managers frowned upon new resources that would improve data governance as these types of resources, although useful, can become quite expensive. The author of the article is an IT manager that deals with people and data on a daily basis. I trust this source as it gives insight on ways to identify data issues and possible solutions for improvement. My research project will be on this exact subject and this article has proved helpful. I hope to find similar articles, maybe from this same author, to dig deeper into the subject of how people use data.
