I originally wanted to study the development of information network technology during the epidemic. Due to the current situation of COVID-19 in different countries, the development of Internet research is also different. Different national conditions will create different information network atmospheres.
Especially, in the field of media research, media, environmental science has always been devoted to studying the relationship between media and humans, to what extent, and how the media is continuously affecting us and our lives. If from the early days of this genre According to the research, they believe that the development of the media is constantly hindering the real communication between man and nature, man and society, and our development is the same to this day. Geography is no longer a barrier that restricts our interactions. The new media are gradually breaking through the differences in ethnicity, race, skin color, nationality, gender, to looking for like-minded people in the world.
Why do I want to explore the impact of this new media on race? When people don’t know about other countries, they will learn about it through new media. The information people push to the media is selectively read, so people do not fully understand the cultural background of other countries.
I want to understand more clearly Can the scrutiny of the principles and practices behind the media promotes critical analysis of social groups underrepresented in the media in each country, and develop views on race and ethnicity?
I have found the relevant case analysis and learning. The media has been shown to have the potential to promote or question the stereotypes of social groups, including those defined by race, ethnicity, gender, and sexual identity. Therefore, education work is expected to address the role of the media stereotypes, to reduce the impact of exposure to negative or narrow social group media descriptions, and may even increase exposure to non-stereotypes and positive media impacts of favorable media descriptions.

Hello, I think this is a really cool topic to dive into. The media is a powerful tool as it can sway important decisions made by individuals around the world. Today, we tend to see the promoting of various stereotypes such as those related to the Black or Asian communities. It is important to educate individuals so they do not spread/promote the ideals passed on by the media such as television or the internet. Additionally, so individuals don’t act in an ignorant manner when coming across different cultures/communities. I recommend using databases such as ebscohost and JSTOR to conduct further research. Best of luck on your assignment!
Quite interested to read more about how each country interprets the media based of their morals and values. The media does have a huge toll in how society is how it is in todays world. It also has to do with moral values, and taboos that are set placed by religions or how individuals are raised. The internet also holds a lot of information that may be false or true, which can lead to a lot of miss leaded information. Not sure how freedom of speech may be handled in different countries so that could be something interesting to learn more about
This is very interesting to think about, and to research. When people want to know something about a country, they look it up on a search engine. If the information that was posted about the country is wrong, the person reading it will always have the wrong image in their head. It is important that the information needs to be true for people to fully understand another culture. It would be interesting to see which countries restrict and monitor what you can post, and what you cannot post. I know that China is very strict on this, and I am sure other countries are too.
I think understanding the connection between media and race is an interesting topic, especially since culturally the world is more in touch with one another thanks to the internet.
Great choice on a topic! We use media everyday and it is only getting more and more integrated as the years go on. You spoke about the communication between man and nature and so maybe you could integrate something about the digital divide. There are still plenty of people out there who just don’t have access to media and find other ways of learning and so you possibly compare differences etc.
Derrick, there is a large area of research touching on access to the internet, diffusion of high-speed internet, and whether or not that’s created inequalities to access in America. Looking into those areas would be good topics for this class.
