One of the challenges I expect with my research proposal is finding relevant information in the literature review.  The topic I’m interested in, social media disinformation, has received some attention in recent years.  That recent research and commentary on it will be helpful.  However, since it’s only been a well-recognized phenomenon for a short period of time, there may be a lack of some longitudinal data over the course of many years to reference.  The possibility of observing long-term trends and changes could be limited.

It will be interesting to see what interventions have been researched and applied at various platforms for content moderation.  Discovering how different methods have failed or succeeded will likely influence some of the questions I hope to answer and provide some insight into how new studies could be more targeted.

I look forward to digging into my topic.  The directions for the proposal are descriptive and well organized.  The example proposals are also quite helpful and provide an excellent conceptual goal for what I’m hoping to produce.
