  1. Well done on your presentation. I think that was a good example you used comparing the ideographic approach with a crime scene when it comes to emphasis on detail and context within your research.

  2. I usually always think of Corporate Social Responsibility when I see CSR, not Case Study Research until seeing it in our textbook and in your presentation. Thank you for the presentation on this topic. It’s interesting to look at the drawbacks of CSR and to see that it is necessary to have a smaller sample size but that it can make it to be considered anecdotal.

  3. I liked the mention of the crime scene as an example for the case study. It really fit into what a case study involves as an investigator would come onto the scene, and take in all the details. The context is important especially when it comes to case studies. I also like the way you broke down the data slide by slide, and did not overload the slides with text, allowing more room for you to explain each part of your presentation. It flowed well, and also was much easier to understand when you broke down the approaches and definitions. Good job!

  4. I think it’s important to remember, this is a specific type of research. So, using the term “case study” in a report would be a bad idea unless you are using that specific, qualitative method.

Mirriam-Webster presents a different use of the term: “The company’s recent history is a case study in bad management.” However, using the term in that way for a research paper that utilizes a different method to study some event or company would be too imprecise.
