Library services at your fingertips

Hello from Forsyth Library! I know everyone is weeks into the semester, but I am happy to be getting involved as the class starts researching and reviewing articles.

As Dr. Loggins has already told you, my name is Heather VanDyne and I’m the new liaison librarian for the Informatics Department. Along with the other faculty librarians such as Claire Nickerson, whose videos on research you may have already viewed, I consider it my job to help you use the library and my skills on writing, research and citation to help you do your very best in your courses.

As I familiarize myself with your class and the work that you all have done so far, I encourage you to visit the library’s Informatics subject course guide and our Video Tutorials, where you can get informative demonstrations about the library catalog and other library services. I’m going to be going through these handy guides myself to make sure everything is the most useful for everyone and if it isn’t, please let me know.

In a few weeks, we’ll be meeting in the library to go over resources at Forsyth, research strategies, and tips and tricks. I’m looking forward to meeting everyone in person, showing what I know and learning from everyone how to best serve you.

If you have any questions or want any help from me before then, come by the library (my office is right across from where the History of Forsyth Library timeline ends), or you can visit my page to send me an email or schedule an appointment.
