My Interest:
Initially, I was interested in this position purely based on its location. My girlfriend and I have wanted to move to Arizona
a for a while, so I put my email into an alert system that notified me every time there was a position available in my field in Arizona. After reading the job application responsibilities I was attracted to what the position had to offer. With opportunities to grow and experiment this position has plenty to offer. My interest somewhat depleted after reading through the requirements. I was unable to check off every box due to a lack of experience. Although I met a good majority of the requirements, there are still a few large ones I need to accomplish. Overall, I was really impressed with this company after looking deeper into their resume and the opportunities the position provides. Eventually, I think this organization would be a great fit for me.

The University of Nebraska job sounds like a blast, and inline with the freelance work you are currently performing for FHSU. The company I work for did some reorganization a few years ago and we had to layoff some employees in Omaha. A couple of them are now employed by the University of Nebraska in the networking department and love it. They have told me it is a great place to work. This would be a fun job with a lot of exposure. I wish you the best of luck in your application.
I think that is a solid list of possible jobs in your near future. By the sounds of it Gannett is the one you really want and it even ties in to a mutual state both you and your girlfriend wish to live in. Working in Nebraska would be a perfect start as you are close to family and it is for a team you personally root for. Sounds like you know what you want and are on the right track to succeed in your field.
I hope all of our media students are careful with Gannet. If you’ve taken INF 240, you probably met Sherman Smith with the Kansas Reflector or the former reporter at Hays Daily News. HDN and Capital-Journal, which Sherman left, are both owned by Gannet. It could be a good company, but it is very focused on the bottom line and often strips away as many employees as possible. In Topeka, it mandated unpaid leave each month to save on payroll.
