I called the number on the contact us page and selected 0 to talk to a receptionist about general information. I then told the receptionist that I was doing an assignment for the college and wondered If I could Talk to someone in HR and Get their contact Information. She tried transferring me to her phone, but she was in a meeting, so I asked for her extension number. Her name is Kaylen, and her extension is 7039.
General Information:
Nex-tech has been in business for over 65 years. Their main office is in Lenora, Kansas, but they have over 20 other locations for their stores. They have over 1,000 current employees. As I researched this company, all their locations are in Kansas. They provide the highest quality internet services, and they are also involved in network security. Their motto states that their beliefs are always changing because they are always working to improve their current ways and incorporate new ways.
Why I am interested:
I am interested in Nex-Tech because they are a top-notch technology company. Their website claims they hire the best people and have the best technology and since everyone desires to be the best, this company is one I want to be a part of. When I investigated their website as far as culture for their company, I was impressed with the 10 words they value as part of their company. These were: communication, transparency, integrity, consistency, questioning, humility, innovation, accountability, growth and fun. I want to work in an environment that values its employees and is an enjoyable place to be. I haven’t investigated too many workplaces that include fun as part of their characteristics for their company and I think it is important to enjoy what you do.

In one of your current job openings, you offer consistent training and mentoring. What does that look like?
Where are your current locations and how many people does Nex-Tech employ?

Koch Industries
Address: 4111 E 37th St N, Wichita, KS 67220
Link to home page: https://www.kochind.com/
Phone, and Contact person:
I went to the contact us page and they didn’t have a phone number listed for general inquiries; it was just KOCH INDUSTRIES, INC. P.O. Box 2256 Wichita, KS 67201-2256
General Information:
Koch is a very big and broad company that employs over 122,000 and is in over 70 different countries. Their main location is Wichita, Kansas and they have 62,000 employees in the United States. They began as a small engineering company but have diversified into the second largest privately owned company. Their interests range from technology, to ranching and almost everything in between.
Why I am interested:
I am interested because several people I know work for Koch, and they have given Koch a positive review. Since they are so big, there should be a lot of job opportunities. They seem to think outside of the box, so I might even get to work on a project for some new technological development that I can’t even imagine yet. I had never entertained the option of working abroad before, but I currently have a roommate that is an international student from Germany and the possibility of working in another country has become more appealing.
Questions to succeed:
What do the most successful people do here that other people don’t do?
Do you promote people internally or externally?
Are opportunities given to provide me the skills necessary to succeed in day-to-day operations?
Because your company is so broad, are their opportunities for cross-training?
What advantages does your company have over competitors?

Nex-Tech would be a great place to work. I know a few people who have worked their way up in that company and I think that there is lots of opportunity there. They do a lot of different things and I know they are looking for more employees, it is just hard to find great applicants. I wish you the best of luck!
As Sheldon said, Nex-Tech does seem like an awesome place to build a career. I think their values align pretty well with the upcoming generation. A lot companies lack consistency, transparency and the means for growth and development. You mentioned fun! It is important to have a work environment where you can be serious, get the job done but also have times where you can share a laugh or two with colleagues. You did a pretty good job researching the various companies. I’m familiar with Koch industries the most as I’ve seen ads and postings on apps/sites like handshake.
Two main questions I always tend to ask in an interview or when speaking with someone from a particular company is how they feel about the company/its work environment and is there opportunity for advancement or cross-training. These are most important when scoping out organizations.
