Great job, Anne, but you may have misunderstood one point of the text. I was intrigued to hear you say that projective tests are rarely used. The Implicit Association Test (see link below) has quite a history in projective tests measuring implicit attitudes. It has some controversy, but it is also used widely.
When I looked specifically back at page 153 of the text, I found this quote: “They are seldom used in personality research.” I think the text specifically meant that projective texts aren’t often used to assess a personality. However, I do not think the authors meant that projecting tests are not frequently used in general.
The Implicit Association Test is a very intriguing measurement of attitudes. They can be used to judge one’s unconscious racial attitudes and one’s presidential preferences.
