Greetings, everyone!
Quick intro, my name is Nevin Truan and I’m a local Hays native here at FHSU pursuing a degree in Information Networking and Telecommunications (Digital Media Production and Journalism). I just turned 28 a few days ago and I’m trying not to freak out knowing I only have two years left with this decade of my life, but it is what it is. Otherwise, I help manage my family’s business as a heavy equipment operator and usually spend my weekends performing with one of my several bands.
So, one of my biggest topics of interest in my life is music and audio production. Everything about it from theory, performing, and production, to audio engineering and the technology involved with it interests me. I can think of a handful of different aspects to observe and gather data on, considering this is a big part of successfully being able to market whatever content it is that you’re trying to put out there.
Topic Examples:
- An average number of actively enrolled college students in a given area who attend local shows?
- Comparing attendance records over time to see which genres and styles of entertainment draw the best crowds.
- Subjecting different versions/brands of a product to intense conditions to compare how they perform.
- Tracking streams/sales over a given period of time.
I could keep going, but I think you get the point. There’s a multitude of different aspects to cover within these topics. I’m particularly interested in diving into some of these ideas, considering the fact I may very well face similar questions on my own in the future!
